Responsibilities Work with the WSP UK Team to gather a design specification compliant with the employers’ requirements, agree on its format and content, and monitor and review its preparation ensuring delivery by the due date.Clearly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Local iCRC Head of MEP and WSP UK Team to allow detailed design.Carry out detailed design to UK Building Regulations, and relevant Code of Practice and standards ensuring Construction Design and Management (CDM), QA, and technical review and sign-off by the Local iCRC Head of MEP, including complex calculations and coordination issues.Provide documentary information via the WSP UK Team to assist in the preparation of tender documents, ensuring that information for tender preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP UK Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions.Deal with the day-to-day queries from the WSP UK Team, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for any design/construction activity.Report to the WSP UK Team in association with the Local iCRC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intent.Track the design process and be proactive in delivering appropriate and cost-effective solutions to the agreed programme.Participate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP.Identify and flag additional time & cost to the Local iCRC Head of MEPAble to complete designs using own initiative and/or with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline (see skills list).Add value to projects by bringing the right technical solutions.It will be advantageous to know all MEP disciplines, structural, architectural, fire, and acoustic disciplines with an understanding of the interfaces and information exchange requirements between your discipline and the other disciplines.Use BIM Track on Projects. Raise and record comments. Help address any comments as applicable to your role via workshop/calls.Undertake regular Navisworks reviews/walkthroughs of project models. Provide comments and propose solutions to clashes. Ensure corrections are tracked and completed.Be able to delegate and hold those you delegate to accountable. Monitor the quality of delegated work and provide feedback good/bad on delegated work. Provide feedback to line managers periodically.Understand BIM Execution Plans.
Key Competencies Good knowledge and diversified experience in comfort, clean rooms & any industrial air-conditioning systems. Experience in any comfort heating system will be an added advantage to the profile.Good hold on the HVAC systems of various applications such as commercial, residential, health care facilities, cleanrooms, datacentres, institutional buildings, industrial, hospitality & leisure facilities but not limited to.Good hold on the entire cycle of a project from the concept design to the use of the building.Preparation of IFC Drawings, Schedules, Datasheets schematics and P&IDShould possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. ISHRAE, ASHRAE, CIBSE, IMechE, IET, PMP, etc.,Excellent working knowledge of ISHRAE, ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, and CIBSE. Good working knowledge of UK Building codes would be advantageous.Hands-on working experience in preparing all the design calculations starting from Cooling/heating load, ventilation, pressurization, airside/waterside pressure drop calculation, sizing of all the ducting, piping & equipment, etc.,Hands-on working experience with software like Bluebeam, PDF Exchanger, AutoCAD, HAP, IES, and Hevacomp.Knowledge of BIM 360 / ACC / Revit / Navisworks will be advantageous.Carry out regular design reviews. Understand the specifications and tender conditions.Good communication & presentation skills
